Hello lovely people, it’s been ages but to be honest the website needed some fixing. Now that the blog is presentable I have a new topic to discuss with you, and I would love to hear your feedback!
Influencers, bloggers or Instagrammers whatever you want to call them… should NOT be paid!
I feel like especially in Lebanon, people have overused the concept of influencers, literally in Lebanon EVERYONE is an influencer.
Let me first explain what an influencer is: an influencer is a person with a strong impact on his followers/readers.
I see these Instagram pages of Lebanese influencers with hundreds of thousands of followers -which we all doubt- with little to no impact on their followers. I work as a social media specialist and I have paid bloggers for some campaigns and out of 4 only 1 was effective and people asked for the service we were promoting.
I see influencers on billboards and this saddens me because nowadays having a number of fake followers can make you equal to those celebrities with an actual talent whether they’re actresses, singers or any kind of artists. And as you can see lately that all big influencers have managers, managers for what exactly? To post a picture on Instagram or to collaborate with a brand you never believed in?
I don’t understand why influencers are being paid, I started my blog and social media accounts to advise girls about fashion, beauty and healthy living. If I like a brand or a product do I have to be paid to advise you about it? Aren’t you following this influencer cause you want the truth? Or else we can head to actual TV campaigns and buy whatever they are promoting.
Unfortunately, the authenticity of an influencer is now highly doubtful, and whenever I see a blogger having a photoshoot to promote a product I know that this person is not to be trusted with reviews.
I am not bashing anyone this is my personal opinion. Let me know what do you think about the whole influencers society.
